Rome, Oct. 8 - "The Night of Youth and Sports," which will take place Sunday, October 9 from 21 to 1 in Campo de 'Fiori and Piazza Farnese, is the first of the events that characterize the project "Reclaim the night!" , presented at the Capitol by the Councillor for Family, Education and Youth Capital of Rome, Gianluigi De Palo.

"Who said that the nightlife has to be the only negative experience? We encourage young people to live a new capital of Roman nightlife, "said the alderman, who has so continued," We must try to channel the energies and enthusiasm of young people in a constructive manner. For this reason we thought of the three evenings of young people who speak the language of sport, music and art, to provide an alternative and take back the night having fun in a responsible manner. "

The action continues Thursday, October 13 In fact, at 20.30 in Piazza S. Maria in Trastevere, with the concert-competition "Roma band," Roman performances by young bands, ending Thursday, Oct. 20, when, at 19 o'clock, at the Museum of the Walls at Porta San Sebastiano will take place the opening of the exhibition of young artists Roman "Young Talents", which will continue until November 20.

It then begins Sunday with "The Night of youth and sports."

At 21.30 the greetings are provided Gianluigi De Palo councilor and the mayor of Rome Gianni Alemanno, the capital.

Thursday, October 13 you will be able to spend a night in the heart of Trastevere, starting at 20:30, between the hustle and bustle of nightlife.
With "Roma band" Piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere is transformed into a stage to give visibility to a few youth bands. It will be a concert with previously unreleased tracks to discover emerging talent in the Capital: eleven bands to perform live, selected from those who participated in the call "Voices of the periphery", published in recent months.

A panel of experts, chaired by Rosaria Renna and composed by the rock duo Ghost (platinum Wind Music Awards in 2011), John Scifoni (actor and director) and Valentina Lo Surdo (musicologist and presenter of RAI Radio 3), will award a prize money to the first classified (3 thousand, 2 thousand and a thousand euros) and will select the 6 groups that will be part of a compilation produced for the first time the capital from Rome.

Finally, the last event, from October 21 to November 20, the Museum of the Walls, 12 young painters, photographers, sculptors and video makers tell the Roman suburbs with the exhibition "Young talents" (also part of the "Voices of the periphery" ), the closing event of the competition which saw the participation of dozens of young Roman artists, aged between 18 and 35 years.

Six artists have won a scholarship, which led them to an experience of three months in London, New York, Tokyo and Helsinki, and twelve are those who will participate in the exhibition, curated by Costantino D'Orazio.

The analysis of their work has shown that the outskirts of Rome is a context that artists today do not want to demonize or to judge with severity, but telling in all its contradictions. None of the images in the exhibition offers a stereotyped view of the urban periphery, but it aims to overcome prejudices and discover the most unusual sides of neighborhoods like Tuscolano Corviale, Caffarella or the Via del Mare. In some cases, the periphery is evoked symbolically, as a concept and existential state.

During the presentation at the Capitol Councillor Gianluigi De Palo has decided to recall the commitment to the young capital of Rome: "In recent months we have embarked on a path to enhance the prominence of youth, so much so that we decided to invest more than 1,113. 000.00 euros in their talents crossing of the public calls that have been very successful. Only to that of business ideas, we received 193 service projects for the common good of the city is proof that there are young people able, eager to be at the service of the city, they deserve our trust. I am convinced that enhance the good news on the young, beautiful things they can do, is the best way to overcome the crisis of values and life that is often the basis of research of the buzz. "
