Castel Sant'Angelo opens its doors on warm summer evenings, to allow locals and tourists visiting this extraordinary monument so full of suggestions. Visits to the monument as a whole, are added on this occasion, free guided tours (in Italian, English, French and Spanish) to spaces which are usually closed to the public, such as the Passetto, the Prisons and historical heater of Clement VII, and just as many free concerts, classical music, opera, pop and jazz in the courtyard of the Crossbow. The entrance to the spiral ramp, which goes in the impressive Roman cylinder, heart of the mausoleum of Hadrian, you can climb to admire the magnificent decorations of the Renaissance papal apartments, stay in the elegant courtyards, dungeons to explore, to wander a bastion to the other on the Tiber, on the march up to Ronda and the Angel Terrace, enjoying the best view of Rome. The National Museum of Castel Sant'Angelo, which can offer its guests stunning views at almost every stop on the Eternal City, has a panoramic bar and a restaurant where the public can nicely round off the evening. Summer Nights at Castel Sant'Angelo is an event promoted by the Superintendence for the Historical-Artistic and Ethno-anthropological Heritage and the Museums of the City of Rome, directed by Rossella Vodret and the National Museum of Castel Sant'Angelo, directed by Maria Grazia Bernardini, organized in collaboration with Munus and Civita. The initiative, the brainchild of the Directorate of National Museum of Castel Sant'Angelo - Maria Grazia Bernardini and Aldo Mastroianni - and supported by Superintendent Rossella Vodret, is involved all the staff of the museum that has actively contributed to the complex construction.
